To improve the economic development of the region, the mayors of the municipalities of Veliko Tarnovo and Gorna Oryahovitsa, are negotiating to build a tunnel under Arbanassi, which will connect the two cities. Gorna Oryahovitsa has an airport with international status, which is currently only doing private and cargo flights. Restoring of regular flights from the airport is expected to have very good impact on the regional economy.

Lately cars in Veliko Turnovo is much increased. The city of wonderful place for rest and relaxation has become a city street with lots of intense movement.
